Requested me to draw Hol Horse and Polnareff! The background was entirely my choice to decide on, since I wasn't told a specific background but- the background chosen for this scenario fits splendidly! Just a flustered Hol Horse, I'm sure anybody who'd kiss him would cause him to be in a blushing fit LOL. But yeah! A blossom-like background is perfect for this, kinda had a bit of a theme going on with the background and the grass/trees being pink! Even added a cloud heart over them, love is in the air eh? Anyway thank you so much for letting me do another trade with you, here's to doing more in the future- looking forward to your part by the way ;p

started off as me redrawing some of my initial mairon designs and ended up going on an rpg tangent 😭 i really wish i could have done the portraits in a pixel art style to better fit the aesthetic but my canvas wasnt the right size!!! i ended up changing annatar completely (im still contemplating how much i prefer this one compared to his old one however...!) and adjusting post-numenor sauron a bit when compared to their old 2022 sketches! im probably gonna do more redraws in the months to come cause of all the stuff i wanna change when i look back to some of my old designs haha 😳

bonus: void delusions (nebula background designed by Freepik)

i like to think each 'form' sauron takes eventually has different mannerisms and likes/dislikes the longer he stays in them without shapeshifting into something else, but one thing they all have in common is being predisposed to nagging melkor 😎

#ffxiv #digital art #zenos yae galvus #venat #endwalker spoilers #will forever be fascinated with this man #look guys look- the literal embodiment of wol's wings of hope LOL (and me going hehe about that and footfalls)#the part of me that adores digging into the nuance of character writing (intentional or otherwise) is just latched onto zenos #and venat-- they cant just give us two characters who get really important 1v1 duels #and ask really important questions #and love the MC and are willing to risk themselves so unconditionally #and have them not live rent free in my brain #--and maybe this tiptoes into the realm of crack theory so beware there will be a lot past here--#but I cant help but think zenos is akin to an oracle or warrior of light but was tempered/corrupted by zodiark #or some strange happenstance of varis (who shares visual traits to golbez before 6.0 ever came out and the dark mana burst)#and carosa (who it seems zenos got his looks from- and he already looks like he has ties to venat and argos like minfillia does)#was he a result of the eternal chess match between the two parties' machinations? or just some strange twist of fate?#another day of him being “emet's successful experiment” (again- intentional or no) making me thonk #theres something so strange about the final days dreams and how dark aspected he is- that his void abilities are more tied to him tbh #yet his mannerisms beyond just what he's been through almost reminds me of light corruption and the uncanny calmness #we see in most beings associated with the light in any significant way and like second phase eden shiva #he almost has all the marks of someone who shouldve already had the echo or blessing of light but for one reason or another #was unable to hear hydaelyns call #of course it doesnt help i mentally associate him with connections to zero and how she was corrupted before she was even born #and durante- who states uncanny ability and connection with light and darkness and yet favors dark magic more #i simply live with the idea that zenos' soul was an eternally faithful companion to wol's and #this time the cardinal sin of separating the pair finally happened to rather dire consequences lmao

so it's the start of AvA part 7 and Chosen and Dark are talking, right? and the former has this vision of terrible things happening if they don't stop the latter, right here and now.

they see the ViraBots descending on the last remnants of stick kind with Dark as their leader (or Lord if you will. ha ha) and i, trusting viewer, took their assessment as reliable*. we JUST saw Dark getting uncomfortably violent in earlier scenes after all

unless Chosen has demonstrable prophetic powers (like how Orange has** in the past seen things currently happening (horizontally-prophetic let's call it: seeing faraway in the current time) (there's probably a better word for this but let's move on)), how did they know this was definitely what Dark was leading up to?

** ⬆ examples of Orange horizontally-prophesizing in AvM episode 11, SkyBlock (unconfirmed but referenced as, "uh? well maybe??? maybe i didn't think about it yet-" (abridged quote from AvG react video)) (op will die /j /extremely pos if this is used again in AvA 11 (HAH they'd both be episode 11 (op just giggled maniacally)))

Chosen is just that... reactive. what was it. @compressedrage (hi o/ ) had a good wording let me find it. yeah i guess it was reactionary

the ONLY time we've seen them stop to think things through is actually just a terrified anxiety breakdown while they stand there, frozen, imagining the worst, until they snap out of it JUST in time to impact their reality.

but with no time left for debate. reasoning. they assumed Dark was beyond reasoning from the moment he showed off what his device could do............. because they were beyond reasoning out of fear.
